Award winning luxury vacation villa rental in Manuel Antonio featuring best staff collaborates with Napa Valley Chef
A standard that we at Villa Perezoso have set from the beginning when we first opened our doors in November of 2008 was to offer a 5 star experience to you, our guests. Our aim was for all of you to feel pampered in a beautiful, tranquil, tropical setting and to enjoy a vacation experience that would surpass all others. We constantly strive to maintain and keep this standard. It’s always difficult to say goodbye to those we work with, especially those that we have come to think of as family. It is with some sadness that we announce to you that Victor will be leaving us in June, but with a lot of glee that it will be for him to pursue his own business. We couldn’t be more thrilled that he will be building his own company and being his own boss. Our exciting staff changes….we are promoting Randall Rodriguez to Guest Services Coordinator/Concierge. Randall who has been with us the past two years, and has over 25 years of hospitality experience, has proven himself to be an excellent team player, giving 110% of himself to ensure that you have a wonderful experience. Based on your feedback and reviews, he is very liked by all of you and thus is much deserved of this position which he has been training for these past few months. A bit of trivia, Randall actually helped us during our opening with our first guests who were here November of 2008! And not to worry…Randall will still be available to mix up those drinks in the evening for you all to enjoy.
We are thrilled to announce that we have hired a new chef, Jose Castillo.
Introducing Chef Jose!
Jose brings with him years of experience cooking for luxury villas in the area. In fact, Randall has worked with him in the past and really stands behind his cooking, presentations and guest service appeal. He is a true gem and we are incredibly excited to have him be our new VP chef. This month, we are honored to have Joshua Mitchell be a guest chef and collaborate with Chef Jose to elevate Villa Perezoso’s dining experience to yet another level.
Guest Chef Josh collaborates with our new Chef Jose!
Guest Chef Josh, having worked in multiple Michelin rated restaurants in Napa Valley, believes in using local ingredients to maximize flavor and presentation. During this time of collaboration, they will be developing new menu ideas to add to our Villa Perezoso repertoire. With Chef Jose’s can do spirit and great smile, we look forward to him “wowing” our guests with new, innovative dishes and our old favorites.
Bruce Paugh, begins this month as our new Facilities Manager
Bruce, Villa Perezoso Facilities Manager

Volunteer Seda withKermie, Ellen at Kids Saving the Rainforest. Takes $17 per week to feed a growing perezoso (sloth)
Named for the property’s original resident – a sloth who oversees things from his guarumo tree home ,Villa Perezoso, a luxury six-story Balinese home a stone’s throw from the sun and surf of Costa Rica’s idyllic ocean beaches and just minutes from the pristine rainforests of Manuel Antonio National Park, begins a donation program contributing a portion of each guest’s rental income to the rescue and rehabilitation of sloths by the organization Kids Saving the Rainforest.
Started by two nine year-old girls who saw the rainforest disappearing from their beloved home and inspired to save it, Kids Saving the Rainforest (KSTR) priority is to grow, expand and continue the operation of wildlife rehabilitation, sanctuary, reforestation and volunteer programs.
“We are thrilled with this partnership,” said Jennifer Rice, CEO of Kids Saving the Rainforest, “Villa Perezoso’s commitment to helping with the feeding, care and rehabilitation of the sloths is key to their eventual successful reentry to their natural habitat.” “ We are grateful to be contributing to helping a local organization who is doing amazing work with the wildlife here in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Their work not only impacts wildlife here but their research and findings can have a global impact for the sloth population”, said Seda Sejud, Proprietor of Villa Perezoso.
It takes a mere $17 per week to maintain the life of a sloth. Sejud encourages all citizens to get on board to maintain the magnificence of this vital part of Costa Rica. Donations may be made directly on Kids Saving the Rainforest Website.
